Play & Youth Sessions

BMCA Ltd Play session

Open Access Play

We offer three open access play sessions throughout the week - Mondays 5 - 12yrs, Wednesdays 9 - 12yrs and Thursdays 5 - 9yrs term time only. We provide opportunities for children and young people to play and take part in lots of activities in a supervised and relaxed space. Activities include arts and crafts, cooking and baking, sports and group games. Free play is encouraged in our setting as this provides children with the opportunity to explore their imagination though play and develop their own games, take risk and challenge themselves. We are very lucky to have amazing indoor and outdoor facilities giving the children the ability to explore their surroundings and create their own adventures.

BMCA Ltd Junior Youth session

Junior Youth

Junior youth runs on a Thursday evening during term time 6pm - 8pm for young people aged 11 – 14 years.  We recognise that Play and youth are two very different sessions and this can be very intimidating for our young people so we try to bridge that gap making the transition as smooth as possible. Junior youth combines aspects of both Play and Senior youth to create an environment that is fun and energetic but can also be a safe space to discuss issues and engage the young people in informal learning.

BMCA Ltd Senior Youth paintballing

Senior Youth

The youth zone runs a senior youth club on both a Monday and Wednesday evening between 6.30 and 8.30pm this is for young people to come and relax meet up with friends and seek advice and guidance on issues that may be effecting them.

Senior youth provides group sessions, one to ones with workers as well as unstructured time to talk providing emotional support for issues that may effect their ability to engage with services available to them. We also support young people with education and employment providing help with homework, job applications, cv building and interview techniques. We encourage the young people to engage in informal learning activities and workshops to help the young people develop the skills needed to become the best they can be and be equipped with the knowledge needed to develop life skills that will help in the transition to adulthood.
